Japanese Taiwanese Fusion – Da You Tien

Da You TienDa You Tien has been on Guang Fu road for a long time and is popular with students and those who enjoy tasty and relatively cheap eats. There is an English menu but you’ll have to ask for it. Prices range from 30NTD – 150NTD and that covers a large variety of sushi, sashimi, tempura, salads, fried tofu, soups, fried noodles and more, such as Taiwanese inspired meat over rice or salted chicken thigh.

As for the decor, well, it feels a bit like a cafeteria, but the regular customers don’t seem to mind and are a testament to the good food.

Vegetarians can happily eat here as well. You can ask for either of the fried noodles dishes to be made without meat or fish flakes, which routinely come on top of everything. Also, the chef can make really good vegetable tempura even though it doesn’t feature on the English menu. Fried tofu squares, inari sushi (tofu skin sushi) and asparagus sushi are also good options – though, always be sure to mention that you don’t want your meal garnished with fish flakes (yu bao pian).

See the map below for the location.
